This drill focuses on developing the fullback's ability to read the opposition's defence and make effective counter-attacking plays. It aims to improve their decision-making, agility, and speed. The drill simulates game-like scenarios where the fullback needs to quickly react to a developing attack.
How to Perform
1Set up a 20x20 metre area with cones, divided into two halves.
2The attacking team lines up on one side of the area, with the fullback at the back.
3The defending team lines up on the other side, with a mix of defenders, including a dummy half.
4The drill starts with a play-the-ball or a short pass from the dummy half to a teammate.
5The attacking team then begins to move forward, with the fullback watching and waiting for an opportunity to counter-attack.
